Local Love: Ginger Elizabeth

Ginger Elizabeth is one of those spots I keep in my back pocket for when I need a solid gift (or I just want something good). I’ve been going since they opened back in 2008, when they were just a little shop on L Street. The wild part is the quality hasn’t changed. Ginger Elizabeths chocolate still feels like it’s made with the same intention as when they first started. It’s a chocolatier + dessert shop, and everything feels intentional. Beautiful, yes, but more importantly… it is the real deal. A box of actual artisan chocolates for Valentine’s Day is a no-brainer. Same goes for a random Wednesday.

I’m a fan of the chocolates and the macarons, and I like that you can pop in, grab something small, and it still feels special without being a whole production. It’s not “cute dessert for the photo”… it’s genuinely perfect.

And bonus: it’s just a a block away from our studio, so it’s an easy stroll after your session. No extra driving, no second stop. Just a quick walk and you’re walking away with something that makes your day better.  (They are on J Street, between 24th & 25th.) Same side of the street as us!
