LOCAL LOVE: Moonshine & Co. Nail Bar

I’m officially obsessed with Moonshine & Co. Nail Bar. It’s not just a nail appointment… it’s a whole experience: immaculate nails, top-tier service, and a legit cocktail program happening at the same time. The last time I was there we had a Paper Plane (pictured above) and a Last Word, and I’m still thinking about both. You can come solo and make it a full self-care moment, or bring a friend and turn it into the best kind of catch-up. Book an appointment, they’re popular for a reason and they fill up.

It’s also woman-owned, created by Lien Glankler (a first-generation Vietnamese American with more than two decades in the beauty industry), and you can feel that care in every detail.  Clean, thoughtful, and actually relaxing the second you walk in. They’re serious about quality too: cruelty-free, non-toxic, high-performing products (including Dazzle Dry and Aveda) and a team that clearly knows what they’re doing. This place is the definition of “treat yourself,” without the rushed, chaotic vibe that too many nail spots slip into.

One of my favorite parts is that the whole concept is inspired by Tippi Hedren… and that matters. If you don’t know the story: Hedren helped train Vietnamese refugees in nail work, which sparked a movement and helped create the foundation for what became the Vietnamese-American nail industry, especially here in California. Moonshine & Co isn’t using her name as a random theme, it’s a real nod to history, legacy, and the community that shaped the industry in the first place. Come for the nails, stay for the vibes (and the drinks), and make that appointment early.
